Annual Salary: 8 million yen and above

Responsibilities:

project management: 

  • Lead automotive software development projects from conception to deployment, ensuring alignment of technical and business goals. 
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets and resources while adhering to quality standards and milestones. 
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented to meet project delivery deadlines. 
  • Leverage your bilingual skills to facilitate communication among global teams and achieve cross-cultural collaboration. 
  • We work with and coordinate with clients (automotive OEMs/Tier-1s) and suppliers to integrate automotive software onto hardware platforms. 

Client & Stakeholder Management: 

  • Act as the primary internal and external point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring expectations are met. 
  • Gather and clarify requirements to translate business needs into technical specifications. 
  • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and manage client feedback. 
  • Resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle and ensure customer satisfaction. 

Team collaboration: 

  • Lead a cross-functional team including various software developers, QA engineers and hardware engineers to ensure seamless collaboration between departments. 
  • Facilitate bilingual communication between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring everyone understands project goals and progress. 
  • Act as a mediator between the team and the client, using bilingual communication to resolve disagreements and conflicts, and resolve misunderstandings and differences of opinion. 

Reporting & Documentation: 

  • Prepare and present project documentation such as reports, risk assessments, and technical reviews. 
  • Document project progress and performance metrics in both Japanese and English (as needed). 
  • Create bilingual project documentation for clients and team members to ensure clarity and completeness. 

Qualification:

  • In-depth knowledge of automotive software development frameworks (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, A-SPICE, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall 
  • Experience in automotive embedded systems and ECU (electronic control unit) software development 
  • Solid understanding of project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 
  • A proactive attitude to take steps to expand responsibilities and improve capabilities 
  • 5+ years of software project management experience - ideally in the automotive industry 
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English (reading, writing and speaking), with the ability to translate technical and business terms 
  • Deep knowledge of automotive software 
  • Deep knowledge of IVI Cluster HUD 
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, automotive engineering, or related field 

Language Requirements: Fluent level Japanese & Business English conversation skill.
