Job Description

You will be responsible for either the Application or Infrastructure area in projects using global packages (Sitecore, ServiceNow, etc.). The application and infrastructure development team includes members located offshore (primarily in India), so you will lead a joint team that includes offshore members. The company is looking for leaders and managers who can play a central role in this department.

Job Responsibilities

• Interview clients to gather requirements (functional and non-functional) and create design documents such as screen design documents and process design documents
• Communicate customer requirements to the development team (including offshore teams) and handle QA responses from the development team
• As a leader in your assigned area (application or infrastructure), collaborate with internal project managers and conduct customer negotiations
• Work with the development team to create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for your area, negotiate with other teams inside and outside the company, and execute the project
• Conduct internal pre-reviews (document reviews, etc.) of the development team’s deliverables
• Conduct pre-delivery quality checks of deliverables from the development team (including offshore teams) from the customer’s perspective
• Perform any other tasks necessary for the successful completion of the project, related to your assigned area

Required Qualifications

• At least 4 years of development experience in the IT industry (SI, package vendor) involving the construction of systems using packages, plus project leader experience
• Approximately 3 years of experience in upstream processes (creation of requirements definition documents, basic design documents and detailed design documents)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with global projects and offshore development
• Broad knowledge of IT technologies
• Interest in offshore development
• Project management experience for CMS/workflow-related systems
• Experience in requirements definition (Sitecore, ServiceNow, Drupal, etc.)
• Experience utilizing offshore development (experience with Indian offshore development is a plus)
• Experience at a consulting firm

Language Required: Business level Japanese (JLPT N2 and above). English proficiency is not required.
