Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the technical architecture for Oracle DB migration to Azure Exadata ExaCS ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to translate business and technical requirements into scalable migration architectures
  • Provide handson technical leadership in designing validating and optimizing Oracle DB configurations RAC DG ASM multitenancy
  • Guide Migration Engineers on implementation best practices troubleshooting and performance tuning
  • Ensure integration with Azure services security models and governance frameworks
  • Conduct technical reviews risk assessments and architecture validations throughout the migration lifecycle
  • Support sizing capacity planning and high availability strategies
  • Maintain documentation of architecture decisions technical standards and migration patterns
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues during migration and postmigration phases
  • Solution Design & Shaping: Creating high-level technical designs (HLD) and defining Azure infrastructure, PaaS, and DevOps strategies (e.g., Azure DevOps, Terraform).
  • Client Engagement: Acting as the technical lead in sales meetings, leading workshops, and conducting presentations.
  • RFP/RFI Response: Developing technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOW), and cost estimations (ROM).
  • Proof of Concept (PoC): Designing and running PoCs to demonstrate value.
  • Cloud Strategy: Assisting clients with migration strategies and hybrid cloud adoption.
  • Architectural Design: Create, review, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient Azure cloud infrastructure, including multi-tenant and geo-distributed systems.
  • Strategy & Governance: Develop Azure adoption roadmaps, establish governance frameworks (landing zones, subscriptions), and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Migration & Implementation: Guide the migration of on-premise infrastructure and applications to Azure, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Optimization: Monitor and optimize infrastructure for cost-effectiveness, performance, and reliability.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business leaders to define, document, and execute technology strategies
  • Architecture Design: Designing secure, resilient, and scalable data solutions, including hybrid environments, using services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL.
  • Data Strategy & Governance: Developing data governance strategies and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Migration & Implementation: Creating and executing migration plans to move on-premises systems to Azure.
  • Collaboration: Working with stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to define requirements.
  • Infrastructure Design: Create and document detailed architectural designs for Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and hybrid solutions (compute, networking, storage).
  • Migration & Modernization: Lead on-premises to Azure migrations and modernize legacy systems using cloud-native solutions.
  • Security & Governance: Define network security (NSGs, Azure Firewall), identity management (Entra ID), and governance policies to meet compliance standards.

Job Qualification:

  • Strong expertise in Oracle DB 11gR2 12c 19c architecture and engineering especially on Exadata platforms X7 or later
  • Deep understanding of RAC Data Guard ASM multitenancy and performance tuning
  • Experience architecting solutions on Exadata X9X11 and cloud platforms Azure OCI
  • Familiarity with Azure networking security and governance models
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive architectural decisions
  • Excellent problem solving communication and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle licensing and cost optimization strategies is a plus
  • Design, implement and operate database systems for performance and reliability in Azure
  • On-Prem/Cloud upgrade of SQL Server from Legacy version to latest versions in Azure
  • Good knowledge in T-SQL scripting & PowerShell script
  • Good understanding of Database Performance using various tools
  • Conforming to client compliances and expectations

Languages: Native level Japanese (JLPT N) and business level English required
