Job Description:
- Provides strategic leadership and direction for product engineering operations in the life sciences sector
- Develops and implements engineering strategies that align with business objectives and industry trends
- Stay on top of emerging technologies and the latest regulatory requirements in the life sciences sector
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understand their needs, and translate them into innovative engineering solutions
- By participating in customer pitches and proposal creation, we contribute to business development efforts
- Adapt and leverage Company existing solutions for the Japan market
- Lead and lead a single team of pre-sales, engineers, and project managers to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation
- Work with a variety of cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate engineering solutions with other business units
- Oversee multiple engineering projects at the same time to ensure timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
- Manage the budget, resource allocation, and financial performance of the engineering department.
Director Product Engineering Life Sciences Tokyo Job Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field. Master's degree preferred
- At least 10 years of experience in engineering and at least 5 years in a leadership position
- Experience in engineering project management in the life sciences sector. Experience in large-scale projects, including overseas, is a plus.
- Knowledge of standard and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry (e.g., FDA, EMA regulations)
- Understand product engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Proficient in emerging technologies such as SW engineering, AI, IoT, and cloud computing applied to life sciences
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers at a senior management level
