Job Description:
- We are looking for a Bridge Engineer who will act as a critical liaison between a Japanese IT team (Japanese-speaking only) and India-based IT Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) specializing in Patch Management and IT Infrastructure. The role requires strong bilingual communication skills (Japanese & English), solid IT infrastructure understanding, and the ability to translate technical intent, risks, and decisions accurately across teams — not just language, but context and expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
Communication & Coordination:
- Act as a single point of contact between Japanese IT stakeholders and offshore Patch Management SMEs
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and daily coordination calls by providing real-time bilingual support (Japanese ↔ English)
- Translate technical discussions, action items, risks, and decisions accurately and contextually
- Prepare and maintain bilingual documentation (meeting minutes, procedures, status updates, runbooks)
Technical & Delivery Support:
- Support Patch Management activities across servers, OS, middleware, and infrastructure components
- Help Japanese stakeholders understand: o Patch schedules and rollout plans o Risk assessment and impact analysis o Dependency management and rollback strategies
- Help offshore SMEs clearly understand Japanese-side constraints, approvals, and operational practices
Governance & Process Alignment:
- Ensure communication aligns with Japanese IT governance, change management, and approval processes
- Support ITSM processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management
- Assist in coordinating with SOC, Security, Operations, and Application teams where required
Job Qualification:
- 5–8 years of overall IT experience
- Prior experience working in:
- Infrastructure operations
- IT service management
- Cross-border or offshore-onshore delivery models
- Experience working with Japanese clients or Japan-based IT teams is highly preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure, including:
- Windows / Linux servers
- Patch Management processes
- Basic networking, security, and middleware concepts
- Familiarity with enterprise IT environments, preferably in banking or regulated industries
Good to Have:
- ITIL / ITSM certification (ITIL v3 or v4 preferred)
- Any infrastructure or OS-related certifications (Windows, Linux, Cloud, Security)
- Project coordination or service delivery certifications are a plus
Soft Skills & Attributes
- Strong listening and interpretation skills (technical + cultural)
- Ability to bridge gaps in expectations, not just language
- High attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Calm and structured communicator, especially in high-impact or incident situations
- Comfortable working with senior Japanese stakeholders
