Job Description

• Responsible for connectivity and V2X testing on test benches and test cars during the validation and verification cycle of multiple projects for a Japanese automotive OEM 
• Software installation/update and adaptation for in-vehicle infotainment and communication modules 
• Prepare and configure your test environment and ensure test readiness  
• Create or update test cases based on feature list and specifications  
• Executing all connectivity and V2X test cases  
• Record test results, use vehicle diagnostics and log/trace tools to investigate discovered issues and create tickets in the system
• Communicate with test managers and development teams to investigate, resolve and ensure fixes are made to issues 

Automotive Connectivity Test Engineer Tokyo Job Qualifications:

• 2 to 5 years of experience in vehicle connectivity testing or V2X testing  
• Knowledge of in-vehicle infotainment/navigation functions and testing  
• Knowledge of vehicle structure and components  
• Knowledge of electrical engineering and vehicle electrical and electronic technology  
• Experience with vehicle diagnostic and testing tools  
• Experience using vehicle data loggers (BluePirat, TTTech-DataLogger, etc.)  
• Experience with troubleshooting and error investigation, including analysis of communication logs.  
• Familiar with JIRA and Confluence (for ticket management and document management)  
• Ability to track and report progress on assigned work packages.  
• Experience and understanding of software testing and testing processes.  
• Experience in writing and editing test cases.  
• Bilingual in business level English and Japanese (writing, listening, speaking, reading) 

Preferred Qualification:

• ISQTB or JSTQB qualification  
• Advanced knowledge including connectivity and V2X technologies, communication systems and capabilities, mobile network infrastructure (4G/LTE and 5G) and related mechanisms (e.g. VoLTE)  
• Experience in in-vehicle infotainment/navigation testing  
• System integration experience in the areas of in-vehicle infotainment and/or vehicle connectivity  
• Familiar with building test benches, HIL/automation  
• Knowledge and experience in software development  
• Knowledge of software update mechanisms. Understanding of version dependencies  
• Knowledge of vehicle Android OS. Familiar with Linux and Android commands  
• Experience with backend and Microsoft Azure  
• Java/C++/C/Python programming skills 

Japanese Language: Japanese Fluent level required and business level english required
