Job Description

Annual Salary: 5 Million Yen and above

Responsibilities

• Field Issue Resolution: Lead the investigation and resolution of complex field problems, including VIP device issues (phones, CPE, MiFi), roaming challenges (domestic and international), and network performance degradation (latency, throughput, KPI drops).
• Log Analysis & Troubleshooting: Oversee the collection and analysis of device modem logs, network Pcap logs, and other diagnostic data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Project Leadership: Plan, schedule, and execute network deployments, upgrades, and maintenance projects. Coordinate with cross functional teams (IR, CEM, NOC, OEMs) to ensure timely and effective delivery.
• Process Improvement: Identify and drive process enhancements for field operations, including the adoption of new tools, methodologies, and best practices to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and field teams. Lead knowledge sharing initiatives and contribute to the development of technical documentation and SOPs.
• Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary technical contact for VIP customers and key stakeholders. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and rapid issue resolution.
• Benchmarking & Feature Validation: Conduct benchmarking tests (throughput, latency, battery, antenna) and validate new network features (Carrier WiFi, 5G SA, sXGP, etc.) across various devices and platforms.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all field activities adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies

Job Qualification: 

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related engineering field.
• 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in telecom field engineering, with a focus on network troubleshooting, device testing, and customer support.
• Expertise in log collection and analysis tools (QXDM, ELT, XCAL, QCAT, XCAP).
• In depth knowledge of LTE, 5G, and 3GPP call flows (RRC, NAS), as well as Wi Fi and Bluetooth technologies.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and telecom infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to independently conduct field tests and lead technical investigations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience preparing and delivering presentations to management and technical teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with international roaming and multi vendor environments.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, Ansible) for network diagnostics.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
• Ability to work in high pressure, customer facing situations and resolve escalated issues efficiently.

Language Skills: No Japanese level and Business level English
