Job Responsibilities:

Installation and Configuration Management

• Version control
• Preparation of installation materials
• Environment setup and validation

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

• Resource monitoring
• Regular monitoring reports
• Database tuning (including performance aspects)
• Monitoring and expanding required disk capacity
• SQL tuning and execution plan review

Backup and Recovery

• Management of regular backup jobs
• Performing full recovery
• Performing incomplete/point-in-time recovery
• Management and monitoring of transaction logs

Security Management

• Access rights management
• Access log management
• SCP planning and response

Upgrades and Patch Application

• Maintenance of multiple versions
• Management of minor version patch information
• Data migration during version upgrades

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution

• Analysis of alert logs
• Coordination with support vendors
• Analysis of performance data
• Analysis of session information

Database Roadmap Planning

Inter-Database Data Integration Management and Construction

• Managing dependencies between databases
• Building replication
• CIS configuration
• Data integration between heterogeneous databases

Disaster Recovery Requirements Management

• Database management based on BCP requirements
• Support for BCP testing
• BCP setup using storage copy

Database Operation and Management

• Log monitoring
• Availability monitoring
• Performance data monitoring
• Response to alerts
• Execution of DDL/object changes for application releases
• Enhancing management tools

Job Qualification:

Basic SAP ASE Operations

• Start/stop operations
• Executing SQL statements (including DDL)
• Executing standard procedures

Performance Verification

• Reviewing SQL execution plans
• Checking lock/session information
• Investigating bottlenecks using various GUI tools or SQL

Backup and Recovery

• Ability to perform full recovery
• Ability to perform incomplete/point-in-time recovery

Inter-Database Data Integration

• Knowledge of replication
• Knowledge of CIS

Upgrades and Patch Application

• Ability to create patch application procedures
• Ability to apply patches

Disaster Recovery Requirements Management

• Knowledge of storage (disaster recovery synchronization using storage copy)

Database Operation and Management

• Basic command knowledge of Linux/UNIX/Windows
• Ability to enhance operational management tools
• (Languages used: bash, csh, PowerShell, SQL, PL/SQL, HTML, PHP, Java, batch files)
• Communication skills to coordinate with support vendors

Langauge Skills: Fluent Level Japanese(JLPT N1) and Business Level English
