Job Description

This position supports the stable operation and improved reliability of engines, construction machinery and industrial vehicles through liquid filter technology for diesel engines and hydraulic filter technology for industrial vehicles. You will use proprietary filter core technology to lead application design and technical proposals optimized for the requirements and operating environments of global OEMs based in Japan. By leading product and technical proposals from both a technical and business perspective, through application development and design, and by participating in mass production, you will directly impact the profitability of the business.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as the technical contact point for liquid and hydraulic filters for engines for domestic OEMs, leading the process from specification review to mass production launch
• Work in collaboration with the global engineering center to lead the optimal design that reflects customer requirements
• Achieve improved cost competitiveness and reliability through derivative development and design improvements based on existing platforms
• Collaborate with sales, production, test lab and CAD/CAE teams to help shorten development lead times and improve quality
• Promote products through technical seminars and presentations, and share technical knowledge both internally and externally
• Lead the improvement of the organization’s overall technical level through technical guidance and reviews for internal members

Required Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics and liquid filtration technology
• Experience in project leadership in industrial or automotive application engineering/design and development, including direct negotiations with internal stakeholders and external parties such as clients
• Business communication skills
• Ability to act autonomously
• A positive attitude that influences and inspires others
• Problem-solving skills that leverage specialized knowledge and experience
• Presentation skills
• Basic knowledge of industrial vehicles or the automotive business

Preferred Qualifications

• Regular driver’s license (helpful for business trips)

Language Proficiency: Business level Japanese (JLPT N2 and above) and Fluent level English.
