• Work on 2 wheeler exteriors design and development, including motorcycle outfitting design for exterior resin parts (such as ABS paint and PP material) and mounting brackets
• Support engineering activities across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design to validation and release, on projects ranging from RFQ and RFI through prototype, test part and production
• Work closely with suppliers, internal teams and customers, validating supplier-developed components and managing customer relations and requirements to grow business

Annual Salary: 5.5 Million Yen and above

Job Description

This role covers 2 wheeler exteriors design and development, focused on motorcycle outfitting design (exterior resin parts such as ABS paint and PP material, mounting brackets, etc.) in the automotive industry.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop 2 wheeler exteriors, including motorcycle outfitting design (exterior resin parts such as ABS paint and PP material, mounting brackets, etc.)
• Carry out design validation for supplier-developed components
• Interact with suppliers and the internal team
• Carry out material selection
• Support engineering activities across the product lifecycle, including concept, design, validation and release
• Review and ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality requirements and project timelines
• Perform FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a successful product launch
• Manage customer relations and requirements to grow business

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering
• 4 to 8 years of experience
• Parts design for mounting brackets, etc., with knowledge of sheet metal and welding design and basic NX operation skills
• Outfitting design, with knowledge of resin injection molding design and the ability to freely create and modify 3D freeform surfaces in NX
• Good skills in customer interaction, project study, planning, execution and delivery
• Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including materials such as steel and aluminum
• Fair knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermal engineering and mechanical design principles
• Sound knowledge of mechanical product design, VA/VE, benchmarking and product manufacturing areas
• Good experience in RFQ, RFI, PROTO, TEST PART, PRODUCTION and PROPOSAL level projects
• Effective communication skills
• Multi-tasking capabilities to manage priorities
• Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and a consistent ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to perform stress analysis calculations using NX CAE analysis software
• Experience in sheet metal parts design
• Experience in resin interior and exterior design for motorcycles and automobiles

Language Required: Conversational level Japanese (JLPT N3 and above) and Business level English.
